FAQ's

FAQS

1. Are these elevators suitable for high-rise buildings?

Yes. Otis offers dedicated high-rise systems (16+ stops) engineered for tall commercial and residential towers, with high-speed capability and advanced safety systems. For buildings up to 21 stops, both Ojus and Otis mid-rise systems are well-suited.

2. What safety features do these lifts have?

Both Ojus and Otis systems include emergency braking, door safety sensors, Automatic Rescue Devices (ARD) for power failure, fire emergency operation mode, and overload protection. Otis Gen2 systems additionally include the Pulse belt monitoring system and access to OTISLINE 24/7 emergency support.

3. Are these elevators energy-efficient?

Yes. Otis Gen2 systems use regenerative drive technology — energy captured during braking is fed back into the building's electrical grid. Gen2 Life requires less installed power than a standard household microwave. Ojus systems use energy-efficient machines designed for low running costs over the elevator's lifetime.

4. Do I need a machine room?

Not necessarily. Both Ojus and Otis offer machine-room-less (MRL) configurations — no separate machine room is required, saving floor space and reducing construction cost. This is particularly useful for residential buildings and retrofit projects.

5. What types of buildings can these elevators serve?

Residential apartments, gated communities, hospitals, offices, IT parks, shopping malls, hotels, educational institutions, and industrial facilities. Hydromo will assess your specific requirement and recommend the right system.

6. What maintenance is required?

Regular preventive maintenance — monthly inspections, safety checks, lubrication (where applicable), software diagnostics, and annual safety audits. Hydromo offers AMC (Annual Maintenance Contracts) for all installed systems across AP and Telangana.

7. How long does installation take?

Typically, 4 to 12 weeks, depending on building readiness, shaft preparation, and technical requirements. Hydromo coordinates the full process — from site evaluation to commissioning.

8. What is the lifespan of these elevators?

With proper maintenance, both Ojus and Otis systems are designed for 20–30 years of operation. Otis also offers modernisation services to upgrade existing lifts — extending life without full replacement.

9. Why get elevators through Hydromo?

Hydromo provides local expertise, site evaluation, seamless installation, and long-term service support across Hyderabad, AP, and Telangana — backed by two of the most trusted elevator brands available in India. You get the best technology with accountable local support.

10. How much does an elevator cost in India?

Cost depends on the number of floors, capacity, speed, cabin design, and installation complexity. An accurate quote requires a site inspection. Contact Hydromo for a free consultation and project-specific pricing.
