SBR (Sequencing Batch Reactor) treats wastewater in stages. It works in three steps: loading contaminated water into the tank, letting oxygen mix with it, and then separating off any solid pieces to drain out. Bacteria do three things: break down natural materials, change ammonia into nitrates, and take phosphorus out with the chemical alum.
