Challenges in Treating Effluent in the Dairy Sector

These are manifold as the effluent is polluted with fats, lactose, whey proteins- all of which raise the biological oxygen demand (BOD) of water. It is also detergent and sanitizing agents –rich, leading to higher Chemical oxygen demand (COD) and TSS that includes planktons, silt and organic wastes.


How did Hydromo Design the Perfect ETP?

DAF- The Latest Space- Saving, Result- Oriented Technology Operationalized

-Hydromo designed and operationalized Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) to reduce the final effluent COD to much below the mandated Pollution Board limits

– DAF systems separated the TSS from the effluent in just 5 minutes

– 99% of suspended solids, oil & grease removed

– 50% of COD, BOD, other organic and inorganic contaminants removed

Biological Treatment

-Hydromo designed and operationalized Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) to reduce the final effluent COD to much below the mandated Pollution Board limits

-An Anaerobic Digestor with a capacity of 200 KLD to 7.5 MLD operationalized

-It reduced the BOD and COD viably and economically, making the waste water PCB compliant

-Methane gas was reclaimed for converting into electricity
